Day 24 - Ariana
After a day full of adrenaline I needed to do something quiet and relaxing so I figured it was time to check out Ariana - the museum of glass and ceramics, which is located right next to Palais des Nations.
The museum collection was pretty eclectic but full of charming things - anywhere from the 15th to 21th century. Did they already know how to make Margaritas in the 15th century? They did have Margarita glasses! Some of the early 20th century works were absolutely gorgeous. Now I want to marry a glass-blower (I don’t to want to BE one because I would spill melted glass on my toes).
And then there was this sculpture. It was just a head of a young woman covered with a veil - similar to so many other classic sculptures, but there was something special about it. It was made out of white porcelain, but I swear, the veil looked so light, you could always see it move... I fail to explain it.
And, of course, there was a ridiculous 18th century giant faience turkey.
No pictures - gotta be here to see it.
